Today's consumer is in the drivers seat on the Internet high way with many hours spent searching for that ideal vehicle new or pre-owned. Long before they set foot in a dealership they have already made the decision on what they want. The current method is to read thought stats, articles and still photos all part of that Google search or your on the local listing service; CarPages.ca, AutoTrader.ca or Kijiji the list is massive.
As a sales consultant, I know that nothing replaces rubber to pavement with a good test drive and tour of not just the vehicle but the services that come with the purchase. Yes the cool blue tooth and flashy alloy rims are important but we all want to know if there is a problem 1-2-5 years down the road that the dealer will stand behind what they sell. As consumers we need to realize that there is more to buying a vehicle then just the vehicle it self. Any dealership can do a cosmetic clean up so the vehicle so it looks nice it is the back end and history of that dealer that is the truly the added value.
So what can take a dealership from lean times to expanding market shares? Providing the best information on line is key and the push to a "Virtual Lot" can providing amazing value to the average car buyer. My budget is not massive I work with to a simple video camera but it can get great results. Most buyers are not expecting "Car & Driver" style driver reports or production levels. The goal of a video is to getting that on line client to schedule a tour/walk-around/test drive and separate it from the others. Basically to make the short list of vehicle to look at. There is nothing worse then travelling the distance to find the vehicle you want does not meet expectations. A short video can giving a good understanding of what the vehicle is all about but does not replace a test drive and inspection. Bennett GM
I am still adding individual video walk around's on my You Tube Chanel both on new & Pre-owned. If you see a vehicle posted on the Bennett GM Pre-owned listing and would like a video walk around forward me an E-mail request. Over the next month or so I will be adding more content "How To's" on some of the basic vehicle features paring your cell phone or other thing that come to mind, so stay tuned for future up dates.
